TWISTER

Last night, (well, it was actually more like this morning) there were tornado warnings in our area.  So at like 3:00 am, the sirens start going off.  It was raining and really windy, and we had our window open.  I figured I should probably close the window so no more of my DVDs would blow off of the windowsill.  As I’m closing the window, my precious roommate asks me, “why are you closing the window?”  Thinking she must still be half asleep, I answered, “cause the tornado sirens are going off and it’s super windy….”  She replies, “oh, I thought it was a fire drill!”  Bless her heart!

Trevecca does actually have a really cool alert system called IRIS.  Except for the fact that they text you constantly during the storm, call your cell and home phone numbers and leave voicemails if you don’t answer.  But it definitely is a good thing to have.

Last night, we had to go down to the basement of Johnson Hall, my dorm, and stay down there for about an hour.  Good thing my RA brought animal crackers and Skittles for us to all pass around!  Allison (roomie) and I took pillows and blankets and tried to be as comfortable as possible when sitting on a floor with your back up against a wall.  Thank goodness for social media in times like this!  Speaking of social media, here’s a picture I Instagram-ed of our “fun” happenings last night.

It’s safe to say I’m exhausted and ready to see some sunlight.
